Ep: 1202 A little more story catch-up and set up for after the holidays

OK, so when we left our adventurers they were in the city of Waterdeep. Due to conflicting holiday schedules and such we've not played a full posse in a few weeks. And I was the one who missed this past Monday. So this story is a bit short, pieced together by what the boys told me.

There were many upgrades to armor, weapons, and spell lists while we were in Waterdeep. This is good, we're probably going to need it. Elle and Itanis both now wear armor. We each got an Elven Chain shirt, a light weight chainmail that is friendly towards spell casters. Elle's elected to wear hers over a shirt but under a larger tunic so she appears unarmored still. If you're super perceptive you'll hear a very slight jingle.

The problem is she weighs 100lbs, the shirt is 20lbs. So to get used to the extra weight she asked Magnus to spar with her (she does have proficiency with long sword, she just never uses it). That went about as well as you'd expect. LOL

Also while in town Elle wrote a letter home to her parents. See, after the fight with the green dragon she's decided it's time to grow up. And one of the things she feels she should have handled better was her leaving home ... she did run away after all. So she wrote a letter home letting them know she's alive and happy in her chosen life and never coming back.

And of all the sessions to miss ...

Apparently when we were done in Waterdeep and getting ready to head to our Keep (drop off more funds and the latest dragon head decoration, and see how the upgrades are going), an emissary of the Council of Metallic* Dragons arrived to ask our party to come to the council for a reason (I never found out the reason). So our party then loads up on a Brass dragon to go to this council.

A freaking Brass dragon.

So much for Elle trying to behave more like a grown up, she'd be giggling like a school girl at this. Of course, no one could tell me who Elle got wedged between for the dragon ride either. :P She wants to see where we're going ... and pet the dragon of course ...

* In D&D terms, there are 2 types of dragons. Metallic and Chromatic. Metallic are good dragons, Chromatic are evil dragons. Which is why we kill the Blue, Green, White dragons we find but are willing to get on a Brass dragon.
