When last we left this awkward group of adventurers we were mid fight with a humanoid we were having a hard time identifying, but had a fondness for cold spells. As a reminder, this group consists of:
Malek, Tiefling Eldritch Archer, channeling magic via arrows from afar
Thonk, Orc "alternative minded" Wizard
Lutor, Minotaur Cleric fond of protection, when provoked becomes intimidating
Viktor, the boisterous, slightly crazy, Gray Dwarf Fighter
Jack, a Tabaxi Bard with a penchant for storytelling
Selene, a Tabaxi Sorcerer fond of observing the world
Continuing the fight is proving to be a challenge. This guy just won't die, and the magic runes keep getting more lit up.
Thonk decides to runs in at this point. I guess he got tired of "casting" "wall of force". This big orc comes running into the room, leaps over the ice area, and proceeds to get all up in this humanoid's face.
The humanoid decides to unleash a powerful cone of cold and hit Thonk, Viktor, and Jack hard. Jack does not look good at this point. Frankly Lutor doesn't look too good either.
Malek though, he's raining pain with his bow while also analyzing what is going on with these runes. Which is good, because the dwarven fighter tried to navigate the ice the bad guy formed and fell flat on his keester. He does get back up though and rejoin the fight. Selene heals Lutor some, and he in turn gives some healing to the whole party. Jack is psychologically torturing the humanoid.
Selene isn't exactly sure the right course of action at this point, this other party is determined to kill this humanoid. So she decides to get a little brave. She uses her feline agility to run across a chunk of the room, across the ice patch, slide gracefully to a stop and breathe fire on the humanoid.
Thonk and Viktor lay out the hurt on the humanoid, or try to anyway he seems pretty tough to hit for a magic user. Jack continues with his psychological torture of the humanoid and Lutor does some more healing.
Malek finally figures out the reason we can't identify the humanoid is there's a, uh, face cling-on going on. Yeah, ok, that's not normal. He continues with his arrows of pain and the humanoid is looking hurt at this point but he's still fighting. And the runes keep glowing brighter.
And that's where we left this party! Hazards of being caught up, you get the lunch session rather than the full story. :)
