Episode 3: Rotten Goblins

This party is currently in the town of Sandpoint, in the country of Varisia, on a fact finding mission. We consist of a group of 6 characters:

Bucky, our friendly neighborhood Goblin of the fire-bombing persuasion

Ashryn, the scarred and stoic Elven fighter

Wazboot, our steady Human cleric

Fallos, the outgoing Halfling swashbuckler

Splint'r, the unmet rat-folk monk

Kajar, the unmet Half-Elf summoner

We were at the end of a peaceful town festival, everyone is happy, fed, and awaiting the closing speeches. Sounds great right? Well, suddenly there is creepy high pitched goblin voices singing out as chaos breaks loose. A dog yelps in pain, there's people screaming in fear and starting to run every which way as the goblins sing this delightful tune:

Goblins chew and goblins bite, Goblins cut and goblins fight.

Stab the dog and cut the horse, Goblins eat and take by force!

Goblins race and goblins jump.

Goblins slash and goblins bump.

Burn the skin and mash the head, Goblins here and you be dead!

Chase the baby, catch the pup.

Bonk the head to shut it up.

Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed, We be goblins! You be food!

And out pops 4 goblins by our friend Ameiko Kajitsu's food cart. Three remain on the ground, but one hops up on the cart and starts stuffing all the crabs and bread it can manage down its pants while maniacally giggling.

Bucky starts things off with a literal bang, he lobs a fire bomb at one of the goblins in the middle of the pack. Lights the creature on fire and killing it dead, while two others nearby take some damage as well.

Kajar summons an earth elemental in front of the cart, awaiting orders next round. Ashryn, muttering about incompetent town guards, stomps up to the one on the cart and takes a swing at it, but misses. She then insults it in Goblin. Splint'r slings out of the dark alleyway and proceeds to attack the goblin nearest to him as Fallos dances in to swing at another goblin.

Goblins are surprisingly hard to hit apparently. The goblin on the cart decides to swing at Ashryn, cutting her with his blade while shouting "My food you no take my food!" as it steps back. The two goblins on the ground swing at Fallos and Splint'r. Another goblin some how gets on the roof of the structure behind the cart run across it and did a mighty leap at Splint'r ... but fell flat on its snout next to him instead.

And then Bucky lobbed another fire bomb into the combat. He hit the goblins, lighting the one on the cart on fire. It fell to the ground dead. This fire also hit Ashryn, who took damage from it.

Kajar's earth elemental wandered into melee, punching at a goblin and killing it. Ashryn then steps up to the prone goblin and killed it as well.

At this point all of this batch of goblins are dead. There's still a lot of screaming citizens running and a few of us catch more goblin singing under the din, so Splint'r scurries up on to the stage to get a view of what is going on. There are 6 more normal goblins to the south side of the plaza, along with some sort of leader goblin. He's singing, they're all delightfully cackling.

Fallos takes off towards the south side of the plaza, but the bulk of the first fight was on the north side and there's only so far one wee little halfing can move at once. Wazboot moves over towards the north side of the stage and summons a lightning elemental in the goblins, but it misses hitting one.

At this point one of the goblins goes running for the stage, jumps, misses, and splats on the ground. Goblins aren't apparently all that athletic or something. Another goblin goes running towards Fallos while laughing maniacally and waving his torch around at the running townsfolk.

Kajar and their elemental shift their focus towards the south end of the plaza and start heading that direction, Kajar also elected to buff up the elemental as well. Two more Goblins moved towards the chapel steps/behind the stage area and swiped at the lightning elemental, unfortunately destroying it.

Ashryn sprinted towards the south side of the plaza to stage herself for next round, and a goblin helpfully walked up to her while lighting a tent on fire.

Splint'r gracefully hopped down off of the stage and punches the idiot goblin that face-planted in the side of the stage while Fallos goes all slashy on the goblin that had run up to him.

And that's where we left off for this episode! More in two weeks, hopefully.
