When last we left this party we had demolished a lot of demonic based bad guys. It was a good day, it was also a very exhausting day. As a reminder this party consists of:

Tsedek, our charming Tiefling Rogue

Itanis, a devious High Elf Wizard, fond of controlling any situation we may find ourselves in

Leoven, our quiet but effective Wood Elf Ranger

Magnus, the Human Paladin of Heironious, he has followed a vengeance path

Elle, the small but sparky High Elf Wizard, fond of blowing things up with lots of fire

Standing around after the Hell Tank driver dies for a moment, we all catch our breath. Realizing we're completely spent we decide it's time to rest for the night. Unfortunately that was such a tough fight that Elle can't do her mansion spell. She can, however, do the much lower level dome from days gone by. Magnus promptly calls dibs on "his corner" of the dome. So we ask Itanis to drop the terrain modifications and she tucks the dome out of the way of any paths, Leoven hunts us up some food, and we pass out.

Well most of us pass out.

Magnus spends the night twitching and moving in his sleep. The next morning he attempts to describe to us what he saw.

In the dream he saw the Necromancer that has the Eye of Vecna standing in a pool of liquid. He tells Magnus to "Stop interfering with my plans". Then there's a whole creepy tentacle thing going on and the Necromancer morphs into a Mind Flayer, still with the Eye of Vecna. A potentially undead Mind Flayer with the Eye of Vecna.

Definitely concerning.

Magnus doesn't look great, blood shot eyes, grumpier than normal, but we continue on our trek. We're still in information gathering mode at this point. Magnus does ask "us wizardy types" if there's a way we can join him in a Scry. We're like not that we know of, and let's see how this day goes as he was ready to Scry right then and there.

Leoven finally makes contact with the ranger guild that works this forest though, so that was good. They inform us there's two ways to deal with the mountains in front of us: over, or around. There is no known underground way of going. There has also been an uptick in Orc, Goblin, and Ogre activity in the area. There's also the potential for Intellect Devourers. Oh joys.

We decide over the mountains is the route for us to take. Even if they are called the thunderclap ridge. What could go wrong?
