Episode 1704: Magnus vs Tank, again

And we're back from the holidays! And ready to resume this crazy tale of hell machines, demons, and necromancers. As a reminder this party consists of:

Tsedek, our charming Tiefling Rogue

Itanis, a devious High Elf Wizard, fond of controlling any situation we may find ourselves in

Leoven, our quiet but effective Wood Elf Ranger

Magnus, the Human Paladin of Heironious, he has followed a vengeance path

Elle, the small but sparky High Elf Wizard, fond of blowing things up with lots of fire

When we last left this party we had killed off a hell tank with demonic outriders and flying golem scouts. But, there was another batch with a hell tank coming our way, so Itanis did some creative world reorganizing to slow the hell tank down so we could catch our breath. These things are hard to kill.

Weirdly, Magnus doesn't take off after the new hell tank. In fact, he's just kind of casually hanging out rummaging around in his bag. Leoven continues peppering the tank and the outriders on their slow journey to us.

But, it finally does get to us and Magnus is just casually digging around in his bag for something. So Elle casts Crown of Stars and lobs one at the hell tank. It didn't like taking that radiant damage.

Magnus though, apparently found what he was looking for while she was doing that. He goes "ah-ha" and holds up a communion wafer. He then walks right up to the hell tank and ... essentially boops it's snoot with the communion wafer. With a loud pop it disappears, and a very disgruntled demon-driver falls flat on his buttocks on the ground. Turns out, Magnus banished the hell-tank back to hell.

Seriously.

So the two out-riders proceed to poof and reappear. One in front of Leoven, one right behind Elle and Fauxtanis (that's what we've decided to call Itanis' twin construct). They proceed to start attacking Leoven and Fauxtanis. Fauxtanis, being a "wizard", promptly misty-steps away from the out-rider (and Elle), so the out-rider proceeds to try to gnaw on Elle.

And that's where we left off. Yeah it was a shorter session today, catching up after weeks off and a few quips about journeys from the past and the like were going on.
