When last we left this crew, they had just cleared the crazy wizard tower to be confronted by a Blue dragon destroying the surrounding town. So, we did what the Dragon's Bane does and goes after the Blue dragon.
Tsedek, our charming Tiefling Rogue
Itanis, a devious High Elf Wizard, fond of controlling any situation we may find ourselves in
Leoven, our quiet but effective Wood Elf Ranger
Magnus, the Human Paladin of Heironious, he has followed a vengeance path
Elle, the small but sparky High Elf Wizard, fond of blowing things up with lots of fire
The final scene from last session was the blue dragon plummeting into the ground with Magnus under it.
Unfortunately this episode happened long enough ago I do not remember the order of events, but here's a description of what went down.
Itanis promptly makes a mini mountain over the dragon and Magnus, trapping them there, complete with "murder holes". He also created a river and a log for us to stand on to travel faster to the mountain. Once Elle and Itanis got to the mountain we joined in on the fight.
Leoven finds himself a sniper's nest and starts shooting the crap out of the trapped dragon while Tsedek starts flying.
Magnus, of course, keeps beating on that dragon while trapped in the mountain. Yes, the paladin survived a blue dragon trying to squish him between the dragon and the ground.
Eventually the dragon was killed, so we rested up in the hollow of the mini mountain for the night, then Tsedek ponders if this blue dragon had any loot in his lair. So Itanis goes well let's just use one of the dead dragon's scales to orient ourselves and teleport to his lair! So we did.
Or so we thought.
We find ourselves outside of a dragon lair, all the signs are there of us being near an actively occupied dragon lair. Uh oh, this shouldn't be occupied since the occupant is dead. We soon realized we found the lair of an ancient blue dragon and she was mad.
Weirdly, we decided to nope out of there. Itanis threw up the impervious bubble used during a previous episode and then proceeds to do the teleportation circle. So there's this ancient blue dragon chewing on this bubble while we stand in it hoping it doesn't fail. And for some reason, Leoven proceeds to taunt the dragon in the dragon's language. Leoven, not Magnus, taunts. Interesting turn of events.
We successfully escape the ancient blue dragon's maw and arrive back at Waterdeep to turn over the blue dragon mask we retrieved. A little restocking happened then we were off to our keep while the council in Waterdeep studied the mask.
Or so we thought.
