Another OG tale time! This group is currently looking for a Dragon Cultist who is leaving the cult and has promised us the Blue Dragon mask as payment for our rescuing him. As a reminder, this bit of fun is brought to you by the following characters:

Tsedek, our charming Tiefling Rogue

Itanis, a devious High Elf Wizard, fond of controlling any situation we may find ourselves in

Leoven, our quiet but effective Wood Elf Ranger

Magnus, the Human Paladin of Heironious, he has followed a vengeance path

Elle, the small but sparky High Elf Wizard, fond of blowing things up with lots of fire

When last we left this group we were making our way through the tower of a long dead wizard, looking for the dragon cultist turncoat. We're mid battle with 2 Earth Elementals and a Water Elemental, and the Water Elemental currently has Magnus engulfed.

Itanis promptly puts a wall of force around the whirlwind so no more gems could fly out and the rest of us set about the business of killing the elementals. In an attempt to save spells Elle stood back and started lobbing fire-bolt. Leoven went into machine-gun mode with his arrows. Tsedek, he's getting quite deadly with his whip. He's got bonuses to sneak attacks and when he hits with his whip there's this shimmery aura around his target. If the target moves while this shimmery aura is in place they take more thunder damage. All while Itanis controls things and Magnus gets crankier and crankier.

But we were successful in killing off the elementals that had been launched from the whirlwind, without drowning Magnus. He's unamused though. Itanis, having realized what these gems do, uses his animate objects to remove the remaining gems from the whirlwind and pocketed them. Elle finds a bunch of research around elementals and pockets that for further reading.

We go back out into the main hallway and continue on. It's weird, because instead of a wall it is more like a mirage or illusion of the night sky with stars and everything. Short way up the walkway there's a door, so Tsedek checks it out and we enter.

We find the motherlode of epic libraries behind the door. Books, beautiful books, everywhere. Many quite valuable and several rare ones. Of course we want them all if possible so after some back and forth we summon Magnus' gryphon Storm, attach a note to him, and load him up with all of the books. Then Itanis casts teleportation circle and Storm walks through. Hopefully the folks at Dragon's Bane Keep read the note. Our ghostly librarian is going to be super busy and super happy lol.

While we're taking care of those details, Tsedek keeps prowling about the library and discovers a secret door. He has no issues getting it to open. Behind the door is a large crystal mirror object with a scene from the plane of fire depicted. But before we could get further in the exploration, the stacks of paper on the library's desk animate and start swirling around each of us. Seriously.

Leoven, always our quiet cautious soul, steps back out onto the hallway path, and his papers drop to the ground, no longer animated. So Magnus and Itanis step out as well. Elle, annoyed at this point, lights bonfire and starts burning the flying papers, destroying them fairly easily.

And that's where this session ended! More soon!
