Let's see, when last we left this crew Itanis, Leoven, and Tsedek had gone a little way up a mountain lane while Magnus starts praying by the lobster vehicle and Elle stood guard. Coming down the mountain path is a squad of blue or green gronk, 8 of them, followed by a gargantuan two headed ... frog? It's about 20' wide and about 30' tall. The path is ~25 feet wide with a sheer cliff face to the let's call it the south dropping down a very long way. In fact, we had left off with Itanis lobbing a water sphere off that cliff with the 2 scout gronk in it. The north side cliff is almost as sheer but it's a climb up.

So up next is Elle and her need to destroy things. So she pulls out a classic for her and fireballs between the gargantuan two headed frog and the squad of gronks. Does respectable damage but they all made their save so not as harmed as one would have hoped.

Magnus' long prayer finished at this point and a large griffon appears. He has summoned a grand new steed. "I shall call you Storm!" pats it and climbs aboard. He flies up to the fight then dismounts, and sends Storm over to Leoven. Magnus plants himself in front of the approaching troop of gronk. As he is prone to do.

Tsedek is up next and is currently invisible but he decides to move forward and cast hypnotic gaze on the troop of gronk. And they failed their saving throw so they're all standing about stunned until they take damage or are shaken awake.

After a moment of staring at the griffon parked in front of him, Leoven leaps aboard and promptly lets loose with a volley of arrows at the two headed frog creature hitting it solidly. We're good at hitting things for a lot of damage.

Then the world kinda shifts and changes. See, Itanis throws out one of his illusions, causing a 45 degree ice slope to appear under the stunned troop of gronk, sloped towards the fatal fall their brethren took earlier.

So now the gronk get a chance to save themselves as they slide to their doom. As the eight of them slide towards the edge, a few fall to their doom, but four of them manage to dig their toes into the ice and are dangling from the edge. Then another slid down, barreling into one of it's dangling friends sending it to it's doom and taking it's place dangling from the edge.

The big two headed frog was not amused at this so it reached out a tentacle arm to provide support to the dangling gronks. And then lashes out with a tongue and grabs hold of Tsedek, and starts pulling him towards one of it's mouths. Magnus tries to grab Tsedek but was unable to do so.

Elle decides to pull out her sword and cast Steel Wind Strike, something she hasn't done in awhile. This spell lets her to strike up to 5 bad guys and if she hits they each take 6d10 force damage. So she hit every one of the gronks en-route to the big two headed frog. She hit that one too. But now she's between the big two headed frog and the sheer drop below.

Magnus, being the up close and personal sort, goes around the slide and up into the big two headed frog's space and proceeds to smash at it. Storm also moves on Magnus' turn so it flies straight up as Leoven asked.

Now, Tsedek, he's a slippery fellow and manages to get loose from the frog's tongue, but he missed grabbing on to the frog's tongue so he falls onto the ice slide. He then elects to slide down the ice slide towards the dangling gronks, smashing into one of them causing it to plunge to its death and taking it's place dangling from the ledge.

Leoven is atop Storm the griffon about 80' in the air and lets loose with another volley of arrows at the big two headed frog. He's so very good at being our team machine gun.

Then, the world shifted again. Itanis changed his illusion to make the ground totally flat no drop offs no ice slide. He also created 10' high stone boxes fully surrounding the 3 remaining gronk. He also made a 10' high stone wall around 3/4 of the big two headed frog, leaving an opening 10' wide for Magnus to have access to swing at this creature.

Then the gronks start trilling from their stone cages, causing both Tsedek and Elle to fail wisdom saving throws. Both are now stunned, unable to move or defend themselves. So, the big two headed frog sends out a tongue from one head, grabbing Tsedek and placing him in that mouth. The big frog then used it's other head to send out a tongue and grab Elle, putting her in the other mouth.

Magnus casts Haste on himself and then proceeds to smash away at the big two headed frog creature, hitting once for some good damage. Storm moves over towards where the slide used to be at Leoven's request.

Tsedek though, he decides to use his tarot-card of "erase one event", declaring the first tongue-grab never happened. So he's safely about 25 or 30 feet from the big monster.

And that is where our lunch hour ended.
