Ep 1214: Well, she is adventuring for new experiences after all

Today Tsedek's player had a conflict so we will have to wait yet again for his story. At the end of the last episode the main party (everyone but Tsedek) had just killed the bizarre undead medusa. Magnus is of course happy with this, undead evil things are very much his thing.

Since we came through the attics of this cathedral and we had found this creature on the 5th floor, we decided to explore as far down as we can go for information. And loot. On the 4th floor we found a set of "Boots of Striding and Springing" but mechanical rather than magical. On the 3rd floor we found a bunch of small glass statues, including a psuedodragon. Elle very much perked up at that, but no one would let her take it. The 2nd floor was showing ooze intrusion so we stopped exploring at this point.

We've figured out that medusa would turn creatures into glass instead of stone, so that's another oddity in this town. The theory is the small glass statues we found are real creatures. And in theory, you can reverse the flesh-to-stone effect of a normal medusa, so we might be able to reverse the flesh-to-glass of this weird medusa. Its all theory at this point though.

At this point we found no other real information about what is going on with this strange town so we return to the attics and the warlock we've taken up working with. We had decided to take a rest here in the relative safety of the attics when Leoven gets a ping from Tsedek via "message". He's clinging to the side of the building we're in but can't seem to quite climb up to the attics. So Leoven and Elle scramble over to the giant opening in the attics. Leoven secures a rope to the building to lower down to Tsedek, and Elle hangs out in case one or the other falls into the ooze. Luckily Tsedek makes it up to the attics with us and no one falls in.

When we settle down for dinner the warlock offers to do a tarot reading of anyone's fate. Elle, naturally, was all for this. She does so love her new experiences. Magnus, Itanis, and Leoven have declined so far.

It wasn't a tarot deck.

It was a Deck of Several Things, and Elle had declared 3 cards. Oh boy, here goes.

First card: Ace of Hearts - The Fates - Elle can now make it so one event that has happened is erased, as if it never happened, once per this adventure*

Second card: Jack of Hearts - Knight - You gain the services of an NPC follower. In Elle's case she has a follower of Gearbox, a Monodrone (construct), for the duration of this adventure*

Third card: Two of Spades - Balance - Your alignment changes for the duration of this adventure*. Lawful becomes Chaos, Good becomes Evil, no effect on Neutral. This one was the jaw dropping laughter inducing card. Elle is Chaotic Neutral. She became, in one mind wrenching moment of time, Lawful Neutral. She's always rebelled against Law and structure, so, this is going to be entertaining.

That's where we left off for today, and now I'm scrambling to figure out what this means for Elle's behavior. Also, the GM declared that "adventure" would mean this segment, getting the powerful suit of armor from this town to the dragons as agreed upon.
